The Macula is a small area of the Retina which is the central point of our vision.
This central area is where we read and see the finest detail.
The Macula consists of a number of layers.
As we get older, this can be distorted by a bleed in a small blood vessel.
This can happen in multiple places around the Macula.
As the condition progresses, the central area of our vision may be affected.
The distortion will be more obvious when looking at straight lines ...
... and you may notice 'holes' in your visual area.
