Meet our team

Nick trained in the Eye Department at Newcastle General Hospital, before qualifying as an optometrist in 1990. He then worked for several years at a practice in Gateshead while continuing his hospital work.

Nicolle lived and worked in Trinidad and Tobago where she met Nick, before moving to the UK in 1998. Her background is in change management and organisational behaviour.

Louise is a full-time optical assistant and she was new to the world of optics when joining the practice in March 2020. She is very much a people person, previously working with children and adults in very different roles.

Born in Corbridge, Susan previously worked at the local health centre before moving away. She was delighted to return home in 2015 to take up the challenge of working in Optics and be part of village life once more.

Val is one of our most experienced team members. She has worked in optics since 1977, returning part-time after the birth of her children. She has lived in the village of Corbridge in Northumberland for most of her life and is married with three grown up children.

Kath has been working with the practice as a locum for over 25 years. In April 2022, Kath has become a fully-fledged employed member of the team, working with us one day a week. Kath has lived in the village of Corbridge for most of her life.

Deborah qualified as a dispensing optician in 1997. She works part-time within the practice and has extensive specialist knowledge in the field of bespoke and made to measure eyewear.

Helen joined our team in January 2024.

Gill joined us in February 2024.
